Now, this may sound strange, but there are times where the incident in question never actually happened or didn’t happen to the extent of which the injured individual claimed it did. We will conduct interviews, review video, and complete a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the legitimacy of the original incident.
We will then determine whether everything took place while the individual was at work. Sometimes people claim injuries from work when the reality is it didn’t occur there at all but rather somewhere off-site and off duty while they were cleaning, playing or sometimes working elsewhere.
From there we will do what we can to find out if the person is actually disabled or injured rather than faking it. Many people “cry wolf” when there is an injury when the truth is their injury may not be a true injury and they should be able to work. Often times an injured member is unable to sit at a desk due to back pain but for some reason they are able to play softball or mow the grass or shovel the snow.
After all that is completed, our investigators will follow up to see if the injured party is doing what they need to do to get healthy and get back to work. There are a lot of injuries that require extra work and care, like physical therapy or outpatient care, and if the individual isn’t going to these sessions, it could be a sign that something isn’t right.
